How Do I Set My Goals?
You need to set goals. What would the skinny guy like to do? Make
your goals:
1)
Realistic – What can you do to achieve your goal?
2)
Attainable – What can you do over the next two months? Just making these
goals is a good start.
3)
Practical - With the resources you have, these goals can be done.
What Should I Do, Now?
Check with your doctor, before you start any fitness program. If you have diabetes,
asthma and other disorders, the doctor can recommend treatments. This way, you can develop your muscles and
still cope with what you have.
What Can I Eat?
The results of your fitness program are dependent on diet and exercise. For skinny
guys, diet is a big obstacle. Your high metabolism keeps you from gaining weight. Here are some foods that
will help you gain the weight without the fat.
Skinny guys can eat lots of fruits and vegetables. There are packed with vitamins and
nutrients, and no fat. Other foods that will help you gain weight include eggs, tuna, avocados, brown rice,
whole wheat pasta, sweet potatoes and whole wheat bread.
What Do Body Builders Do?
Body Builders eat six small meals a day. They are spaced about
three hours apart. These athletes are never hungry. As a skinny guy,
try putting a six meal diet into your routine.
If you want to gain weight, skinny guys
are going to have to eat more. Bigger portions at meals will help. Add fruit to your snacks and dessert. Try
planning your meals for bigger portions.

How Can I Track My Progress?
Keep a journal on your progress. As you start your Fitness Program, write down what
you eat, your exercises and weights used, your body weight and other notes. Journals are great, because, you
can see if you are making your goals. You can adjust your diet and exercise program,
accordingly.
How Do I Start Body Building?
You can start your Body Building or Weight Resistance Exercises at the local gym or
fitness center. Have a trainer show you the exercises. Form and technique are important. The wrong form and
technique could cause injury and apathy toward the program.
For the next few weeks, have the trainer
review your form and technique. Once, this is done, you can add more weight resistance to your exercises. Do your
exercises twice a week, but not on consecutive days. You are on your way to leaving skinny guys
behind.
What Other Exercises Can I Do?
On your alternate days, you can begin walking. Try five minutes at first and then you
can add a few minutes till you have completed thirty minutes of walking. You have a good
workout for skinny guys.
Make sure that you stretch, after each workout. Stretching helps to relax the taunt
muscles. You’ll prevent muscle strain and muscle spasms.
Am I the Only One?
Do not think that you are the only skinny guy out there. Try joining a group that
works out at the gym, you will see other former skinny guys, too. Take in a fun run or walk and you will meet
people. You can check out fitness groups at your fitness center and the Local Park.
What Else Can I Do?
Add variety to your workout. You can play a sport like baseball or basketball. You can
take in a night of country western or ballroom dancing. Skinny guys have fun,
too.
